Ashaben Jayantibhai Vaghari is a 27-year-old member ofthe Juni Police Line savings group. Ashaben is a local cloth vendor and resides at Bharvadi Darwaja, Viramgam. She works hard and travels door to door to sell clothes and thus earn her livelihood. Ashaben lives with her husband, who is a daily wager and two young children.
Ashaben and her husband are landless and thus have no other source of income. In the initial years, both of them struggled a lot for the survival of their family and even for two meals a day. Ashaben got associated with The Saath Mahila Saving and Credit Cooperative Society Limited around 5 years ago. She was made aware of the loan product where she can initiate her micro-enterprise with small EMIs (easily payable). Ashaben and her husband got convinced to take a loan. In the first cycle, she took a loan of Rs 30000/- and after successfully repaying it she applied for the second cycle of Rs 45000/-. Ashaben shares that The Saath Mahila Saving and Credit Cooperative Society has empowered her, she is handling her small business successfully and is also able to take care of her children.
